Global Grant, New England, USA

Addiction Prevention Collaborative Pilot (GG1978202)

Main Objectives

The project will educate both adult and youth community members on substance misuse and the brain chemistry of addiction, and work to lower rates of use and addiction by strengthening local level infrastructure to implement best practice addiction prevention measures. This will be accomplished by two forms of addiction prevention education programs (adult and youth) and by enhancing the addiction prevention supports and assets within participating communities. Perhaps most importantly, this grant will develop a blueprint for raising local community awareness of social/cultural norms that perpetuate drug use and the brain chemistry of addiction, as well as how best to take action to prevent substance misuse and addiction.

Please check if your club/district would join this effort? A full partnership would be $2.500 for a club, if a full partnership is not possible any gift will help.

The project only needs $15.000 from international (non US) partner clubs to accomplish the complete budget because the support from D5040 has to be replaced (see Application Form). RC Maldegem already committed for $2.500.
