A Call to Action: Join the Movement to Combat Addiction with RECAP!

I am thrilled to share an inspiring and impactful initiative led by one of the Rotary Clubs from RID 3141, Mumbai, India. The Rotary Club of Mumbai Ghatkopar has taken a bold step in addressing a critical issue affecting lives worldwide—Addiction Prevention. This focus has given birth to an extraordinary club:

"Rotary E-Club of Addiction Prevention 3141" (RECAP)

As a passport club meeting online, RECAP welcomes members from across the globe, uniting individuals who are passionate about making a difference.

The club’s efforts have culminated in the launch of an ambitious project:

The Vimukti Yatra: A Journey Towards Freedom from Addiction

This extraordinary initiative was flagged off on India’s 76th Republic Day, January 26, 2025, and is set to conclude on Rotary’s 120th Foundation Day, February 23, 2025, at the iconic Gateway of India, Mumbai.

Under the dynamic leadership of President Rtn. Siddharth Udeshi, alongside PDG Dr. Harshad Bhai Udeshi (RID 3055) and Future President Rtn. Vishal Patwa, the team will embark on an epic journey:

  • 10,000+ kilometers across 26 Rotary Districts and 17 Indian States
  • From Kashmir to Kanyakumari
  • Promoting awareness on the prevention of the four major forms of addiction:
Nicotine, Alcohol, Drugs, and Internet (NADI)

During this journey, the team will meet with Rotary clubs, Rotarians, and District Governors to spread the message of addiction prevention and encourage membership for RECAP.

This initiative is not just a journey—it’s a mission to ignite change, build awareness, and foster a global network of individuals committed to addiction prevention.

Let’s extend our blessings and support to this vibrant team as they carry forward this noble cause. Together, we can create a healthier, addiction-free world.
